EVELYN HAMILTON, 2015 HOC AWARD RECIPIENT

EVELYN HAMILTON

A native of Rome and a graduate of Main Elementary, Middle School and Main High School, Evelyn was one of three students who integrated Berry College in 1964. She graduated from Berry with a B.S. Degree in Home Economics  in 1969and began working that same year with the State of Georgia, Floyd County Department of Family and Children Services where she retired after 34 years of employment.

She is single, never married, no children, but is blessed to have nieces and nephews in her life who she loves like they were her own.

Her life is filled with numerous activities which include:

– Kelsey-Aycock Burrell Center Board of Directors

Nominated by Shirley Mosley.  Shirley says  “The years that Evelyn has been volunteering at all of the organizations range from a few to twenty or more.  The number of people reached range from 20 to hundreds.  She has touched lives at home and through our community.  She heeded the calling years ago and the call still rings in her ears and in her Heart.”
